That question started the company, and it is still the one every project has to answer. We begin not with a product category, but with a problem worth solving.
Our starting point
Innovation is usually described as invention. We think it more often looks like attention — noticing something people have quietly worked around for so long that nobody bothers mentioning it any more.
A frayed cable gets replaced rather than reported. A teacher marking by hand at 11pm does not file a complaint. Those silences are where the real problems are, and they are the ones we go looking for.
So our work starts with observation rather than a technology. We want to understand the constraint properly — how the thing is actually used, by whom, under what pressure — before deciding what should be built.
That discipline is what separates a product that helps from a product that merely exists.

Challenge what is accepted simply because it is familiar. Most everyday failures survive because nobody re-examined an assumption everyone inherited.

Turn insight into a solution that improves the everyday experience. We launch deliberately, measure honestly and use real use to strengthen the product, the positioning and the delivery.
Deliberate constraints
Most of what makes a product good is decided by what gets left out.

A wearable overloaded with functions but unreliable at its basic job has failed. Capability that undermines the primary task is not capability — it is noise.

Numbers on a box are easy to inflate and hard to live with. We would rather claim less and deliver it every time than advertise a capacity the product cannot sustain.

Schools sometimes invest in technology that is easy to point at while the daily problems of teaching go unsolved. Adoption should follow a real problem, not a procurement cycle.

If the answer costs more than the problem is worth to the person who has it, the problem is not solved. Affordability is designed in from the start, not discounted in later.

Things that last are the simplest form of sustainability there is. A product that needs replacing every year is a design decision, not an inevitability.

Education taught us this: a single fix inside a broken system rarely holds. Proposition, experience and operating model have to be designed together.
